A member of the Black pack, Quil Ateara V is mentioned in Twilight, but becomes increasingly important starting in New Moon. Unlike the other members of the pack, he was happy about becoming a wolf, and finally having his friends back and understanding what was going on, but the pack really didn't understand his excitement as they were dismayed at the thought of the Cullens having indirectly caused another pack member to phase. Quil was happy to have finally made the pack and reunited with Jacob, Embry and the other shifters.
He imprinted on Claire Young, who is two years old at the time, which causes criticism at how he imprinted her at a young age. However, imprinting is not a choice and his feelings are purely for the girl’s happiness. As Claire got older and developed feelings for Quil, the two later got married and have two children; Isaiah and Suzanne Ateara.
He is portrayed by Tyson Houseman.

Eight Years Later
Quil and Claire.
Years later, Quil continues to be like a brother to Claire until she became a teenager where he became her best friend. As she gotten older, Quil sees a change in Claire and falls in love with her, however, Sam, now married to Emily, forbids Quil from telling Claire his feelings as he doesn’t want imprinting from stopping Claire from getting an education. This angers Quil as he cannot wait a long time, but it was either that, or being prohibited from seeing Claire at all. Without a choice, Quil has to obey Sam’s rule which makes it difficult for Quil not to look at Claire. When she suddenly confesses her feelings for Quil, he lied that he doesn’t feel the same and left her. When Quil was at his home, Claire arrives after she had an argument with Sam when she found out of Quil’s behavior. After Sam came over to apologize and talk things out, Quil and Claire finally became a couple.
A New Life
Quil appears in the story as he and the tribe all met up with Jacob and Renesmee and Lucas Stone after hearing about him. Quil and most of the pack members were a bit apprehensive due to questions about Lucas but after getting to know him, Quil seems to think Lucas as a good and not a threat.
The Other Half & A Reason To Smile
Quil appears with Embry and Seth at La Push as they ran into Lucas on his date with Krystal Diamond. As Lucas chases after Embry for teasing him, Krystal bets against Quil that Lucas will catch Embry sooner than what Quil expects. He accepts and loses as he pays up to Krystal. Quil returns to La Push with the two along with Leah as they met up with Jacob, Lucas, Krystal and Renesmee along with Krystal’s friends where he witness Seth, Embry and Leah imprint on Krystal’s friends and later bringing them into the supernatural after they phased in front of them.
Quil helps the pack chase a human/vampire hybrid, Jonathan until Jonathan suddenly disappeared in a flash leaving the packs in confusion on how he escaped. Days later, Jonathan returned along with Miley Ray and the pack once again were chasing after Jonathan when Miley used her gifts to assist Jonathan and the pack were unconscious until they were woken up by Jacob, Lucas and Renesmee and went off to find Krystal. Quil returns to the Cullen house to check on Seth who was injured. The Cullens returned with Krystal who is now a vampire.
Full Of Surprises
Quil meets up with the pack for a meeting where Lucas’s friend Tiffany Stewart is pregnant with vampire baby and the father is Joham, who is creating a super race of vampire human hybrids. Quil joins some of the pack in assisting the Cullens when Blake and Christina were spotted and tried to stop them but they escaped. Turns out, the two were luring them away as Joham leads an army of newborns to distract those protecting the Cullen house as Joham tries to capture Tiffany’s daughter Lucina Stewart. Embry and the others join in as Joham escaped empty handed.
After knowing what Joham’s plan is and how to get Lucina, Quil and members of the pack, fight off Joham from getting Lucina and were able to subdue Joham in the end. Quil watches as the Volturi suddenly arrive and destroy Joham for his crimes.
Have A Purpose
Sometime in 2023, Quil and Claire got married. A year later, they have a son, Isaiah Ateara. Quil was called to help the pack for a search for Jemma, who has been with the Cullens for awhile and suddenly disappeared and are unable to find her due to having no scent. After the downfall of the Volturi, Quil joins the pack in assistance as the new Volturi.
A Christmas Surprise
Quil and his family were present at the Cullen house where they retell the story of the events to the guests as the laws have been adjusted for them to know about the supernatural as long as they swear to secrecy.
Fourteen Years Later
In 2028, Quil and Claire have a daughter Suzanne Ateara. Quil later moves his family in Minneapolis, Minnesota after Jacob meets another family from the Quileutes. His son soon joins the pack after his first phases while Quil works at Walker Mechanics.
