Demetri is a former member of the Volturi guard with the ability to track people through the tenors of their minds. Since no one has been able to conceal themselves from his sensing, he is a huge threat to those who wish to avoid the Volturi's attacks. In Have A Purpose, it is revealed that Gianna was his mate and is the father of Jemma who he reunited after the Romanian Coven took down the Volturi. After being freed from the Volturi’s control, Demetri left them to be with his daughter.

A New Life
Demetri is present with the Volturi after they have captured Renesmee and hypnotized her into thinking she wanted to be with the Volturi where the Cullens and Jacob arrived surprising them that they have survived the Volturi guards assault because of Lucas Stone. After the Cullens freed Renesmee from the Volturi’s control, Lucas finds out that the Volturi were the ones who killed Lucas’s family. He went on a rage taking down every member of the coven that got in his way single handily including Demetri who proved to be a challenge for Lucas. Lucas reaches Aro where he was about to kill him for revenge until he was stopped by Carlisle and Renesmee. Seeing the outcome of his plans stating it was a “misunderstanding,” Aro reluctantly lets the Cullens and Jacob go home with Renesmee while Demetri was shaken from Lucas’s rage.
Full Of Surprises
Two years after the event, Demetri joins the Volturi after they hear about the newborn army in Washington and set out to Forks to see the cause of it. There, they ran into the Cullens along with the Black pack who has captured Joham who has been creating a race of hybrids using human women as tools for his experiment. Demetri just stands and watches as Aro ask Tiffany Stewart and her daughter Lucina Stewart to join the Volturi only to be turned down by an angry Lucas who reminds them of what’s really going on and how they didn’t do their jobs when there are laws being broken. Lucas then scolds the Volturi about their failures of their job and the actions they’ve done. After being in silence, Aro orders his guards to destroy Joham where Demetri was seen helping Alec hold down Joham before Felix ripped him apart and was later burned. After that, they all left the scene afterwards.
Have A Purpose
Four years later, the Volturi were ambushed by the Romanian coven. It was revealed that Gianna was Demetri’s mate and they have a daughter Jemma. After Gianna died giving birth to Jemma, Demetri sends Jemma away not knowing the outcome of half human half vampire hybrids to avoid the Volturi to kill her and Demetri. This was before the Volturi’s confrontation with the Cullens when they were misinformed about Renesmee and witnessing about her nature and the outcome from Nahuel, Demetri tried to find his daughter but was unable to track her down and fears that she may be gone until they were reunited during the Romanian Coven ambush. Demetri turns on the Volturi when Felix tries to attack Jemma and he destroys Felix afterwards. After the Volturi has fallen, with the execution of Aro, Caius, and others and with Chelsea gone, Demetri was freed from her influence and has decided to go with Jemma and Raymundo to rejoin the Egyptian Coven.
Long Live Life
Demetri was mentioned by the Cullens when he, Jemma and Raymundo later left the Egyptian Coven and traveled together and were later reported missing. It was revealed that they have been taken by a half-human half-vampire hybrid named Skai using the sword called IL Mietitore Capacità turning them into metal vampires as he is using them to plot his revenge on Lucien Summers, who was once his friend, for killing Kourtney Collier, a human girl he had feelings for, by killing Luna Snow.
Skai soon started capturing every gifted vampire including the Cullens using them all to kill Lucien. However in the end, the sword is destroyed reversing the effects of those who were captured and Skai is destroyed by the Cullens because of Luna Snow who was able to reverse the effects of the sword because of her human traits and Demetri, Jemma, and Raymundo were released from Skai’s control.
