Caius (pronounced Kai-us) was one of the three ancient leaders of the Volturi, who are based in Volterra, Italy, and who, according to Edward Cullen, lead a very civilized lifestyle. Caius had a wife named Athenodora and is the most ruthless of the three leaders.
Caius was executed by the Romanian coven for his ruthless and merciless acts on punishments without an ounce of thought. With that, Carlisle Cullen became the leader of the Volturi while Marcus and the wives run the coven in Italy still.
He is portrayed by Jamie Campbell Bower.

Forever Together

Although he never appeared in Forever Together Caius was involved in the story. Eight years after the confrontation between them and the Cullens, Caius goes with Aro and Marcus after hearing about a group of gifted human siblings with unique abilities that catches his interest. They arrived at Lacey, Washington where on the way, they got thirsty and went to a nearest available home where they first attacked Jessica and Lilly Stone. They were confronted by Kendall Stone, the chief of police, when he heard his family’s cries. Kendall tries to shoot them only to have missed and cause a fire and Aro, Marcus and Caius flee leaving the Stone family to die from the fire. Caius joins Aro and Marcus where they later found May, Niall and Olivia offering positions to join their coven which they accept and Aro turned them into vampires enhancing their abilities.

Caius and the Volturi meet with Renesmee after she was captured by May and Niall where he watches her be hypnotized by Olivia and eagerly waits to hear the report of the Cullens being destroyed by the guards. However, he and Volturi were shocked when the Cullens and Jacob, not only arrived but had survived the attack. They are joined by their own new member Lucas Stone who is the reason why the Cullens survived the assault due to his gift as well hearing that they have also destroyed Niall, May and the rest of the guards.
The Cullens demanded that they have Renesmee back but Aro along with Caius and the others lies and states that Renesmee wanted to join their coven avoiding the lie caused by Olivia to block out Edward’s mind reading. After the Cullens witnessed Renesmee admitting “the truth” of what she wanted, Lucas steps up to Aro to join the coven. Aro was about to take Lucas’s hand to read his mind when Lucas tricks Aro by slapping his arm hard causing Aro to spin and shoot an aura sphere at Olivia sending her flying where she hit a wall and a torch fell on her where she vanished in the ash causing Renesmee to be set free from Olivia’s hypnotism. Edward rushes in and brought Renesmee back to his family.
The Cullens were about to leave with Renesmee but Aro wouldn’t have it ordered his guards to destroy the Cullens. However, the Cullens fought back despite the numbers until one of the guards to use his gift to disable Bella, Edward and Alice’s gifts so that Alec can use his to block out the Cullens senses to make it easier for the guards to restrain them. However Lucas used his aura to block out Alec’s gift and was the only one free. When Aro states how Lucas look so familiar to him, Edward discovers from reading Aro’s mind that the Volturi were the ones who killed Lucas’s family from the fire. The news shocks Lucas into rage as he takes down every member of the coven that got in his way including Caius, single handily until he reaches Aro where he was about to kill him for revenge until he was stopped by Carlisle and Renesmee. Seeing the outcome of his plans stating it was a “misunderstanding,” Aro reluctantly lets the Cullens and Jacob go home with Renesmee while Caius was shaken from Lucas’s rage.

Two years after the event, Caius joins the Volturi after they hear about the newborn army in Washington and set out to Forks to see the cause of it. There, they ran into the Cullens along with the Black pack who has captured Joham who has been creating a race of hybrids using human women as tools for his experiment. Aro then sees Tiffany Stewart with her daughter Lucina Stewart and hears about how gifted they are and he eagerly offers them to join their coven only to be turned down by an angry Lucas who reminds them of what’s really going on and how they didn’t do their jobs when there are laws being broken. Caius states that they have been busy to which the Cullens retorted with past events the Volturi failed to do. Lucas then scolds the Volturi about their failures of their job and the actions they’ve done as well Caius actions to show mercy when punishments are being made. After being in silence, Aro orders his guards to destroy Joham and Caius was seen lighting a fire on Joham when he was in their hands and they all left the scene.
Have A Purpose
Four years later, the Volturi were ambushed by the Romanian coven with Raymundo, Jemma and Robyn and an army of vampires with gifts. Caius was executed for his ruthless and merciless acts along with Aro and many others of the Volturi while Marcus and the wives were spared and led the Volturi in Italy.
