Aura manipulation and aura reading is Lucas Stone’s ability to use his aura to protect himself from other special abilities as well seeing people’s aura. He can also produce to shoot aura spheres. In Life and Death, this power belongs to Lacey Stone, his female counterpart.

Description

Lucas possesses the gift to use his aura to protect himself and others from other supernatural powers similar to Bella’s shield. However, the two gifts are different since Lucas’s gift can also block Alice and Jasper’s gift since it also protects the body. The ability to protect isn’t mandatory as Lucas has the option to turn off his aura to allow others to use their abilities on him. In Full Of Surprises, his gift was developed to send some of his aura to another individual for their protection from other special abilities and he can later regains it for himself. Just like Bella’s it can be penetrated by Renesmee, Evan and Sarah’s gift, Tiffany’s eye seeing, Jonathan’s absorption and Miley’s sharp jab gift and later on can also surround others besides himself revealed in Full Of Surprises.

Lucas can see other people’s aura. It is considered a second vision as he can see their auras. With it, he can identify their emotions similar to Jasper’s gift. He can also tell if the person is lying like Edward’s mind reading based on their aura. Regardless of their protection like May’s invisibility or Niall, Christina and Eden Love’s substance veil (Jemma is the only one to show no aura to Lucas), Lucas can still see their auras. Lucas can also use his aura to create aura spheres as a use of weapon when in a battle which he uses it a lot.

Limitations

Lucas’s aura has it limits when used. It uses up some of Lucas’s aura when sending aura spheres the more they’re used and takes time to regain them as seen in Long Live Life when Lucas was battling the metal vampires. It also does the same thing when he sends some of his aura around someone unless he regains them back. Also, seeing other people’s aura is unavoidable as he is forced to see their emotions based on their auras.

History

Origins

Lucas inherited this power from his father Kendall Stone, who calls this skill “cop senses.” The inheritance is presumably passed down through their similar personalities and protectiveness. He can tell something bad is happening or he could suspect what the person feels or thinks along with the skills learned from martial arts which later develop to use his aura.

After Lucas’s transformation, he discovers his gift to use his aura to protect himself from other special abilities which was why Edward couldn’t read Lucas’s mind and why Alice and Jasper couldn’t use their gifts either since Lucas’s aura protects his whole body and mind. The Cullens help train Lucas on how to use his ability. Lucas has also developed to use his aura to be created as weapons, create them in a form of a spheres for him to shoot calling them his aura spheres.

When the Cullens discovered that Renesmee is missing, Lucas can see a few of the Volturi guards attempting to assassinate the Cullens, despite that they were completely invisible, by their auras. He held out an aura sphere at Olivia and Niall, threatening them to confess of their attempted assault by shooting it at their faces. At Volterra, Lucas puts on his aura and fools Aro as he shot an aura sphere at Olivia to break her hypnotism on Renesmee. Lucas put on his aura as he went on a rage against the Volturi after finding out they killed his family in the fire.

At the end of A New Life, Lucas put on his aura and left the Cullens for a week to return to Lacey saying goodbye to his friends before he returned to the Cullens.

The Other Half & A Reason To Smile

Lucas, not knowing that he did, has his aura on blocking out his family members’ special abilities due to how he feels left out that everyone has their significant other but he hasn’t yet.

He goes to school with the Cullens where he caught interest of Krystal Diamond when he saw her aura of pink. At home, Lucas left his aura off where his thoughts were on Krystal giving Edward full access to his thoughts. Lucas soon starts falling for as Krystal’s aura meant that she’s in love with him.

Lucas fights off Miley and Jonathan shooting his aura spheres at them but their special abilities to send mental jabs and absorb energy respectively, bypassed Lucas’s aura to protect himself leaving him at a disadvantage. He uses two of his aura spheres and claps them together to create a shockwave sending Jonathan flying out the building.

Happily Ever After

Lucas notices Emmett is up to something on his bachelor night due to seeing Emmett’s aura. On Lucas’s wedding night, Lucas can see the Cullen men and Jacob getting protective of their love ones because of Lucas’s friends Matt and Cooper eyeing the Cullen women until they found out that the family are together romantically. When Lucas saw his family and Meghan, he is unable to see their aura due to the fact that they passed away.

Full Of Surprises

After Lucas and Krystal returned from their honeymoon, Lucas revealed that his gift has been developed to give some of his aura to a person he chooses to protect them from other super natural abilities. The reason for that is so Alice doesn’t see their future as Lucas and Krystal took Alice and Emmett by surprise shooting aura spheres at them.

As Tiffany’s pregnancy goes, Lucas was able to see the baby’s aura around Tiffany’s belly saying how much it loves Tiffany and Lucas.

Lucas sends aura spheres at newborn vampires sent by Joham who came for Tiffany’s newborn daughter, Lucina.

During the search for Lucina when she went missing, Lucas send Krystal an aura sphere for her to throw at the mist breaking Christina, Blake and Lucina out of it.

Lucas gave some of his aura to Lucina so that it could take the effect from the drugs Joham tried to insert in her to render her vampire abilities useless. He uses his aura spheres to stop Joham from getting Lucina as the Cullens and the pack try to apprehend him.

Forever Together

In the present time, Lucas put up his aura as he put some of his around Tiffany before they tell the story of their human lives to the Cullens. He later took back his aura from Tiffany only to give it to Krystal.

Value In Beliefs

Lucas tries to fight off Zoran shooting his aura spheres at him, but Zoran knocked them away and wrestles Lucas to the ground. He later uses his aura sphere to create an opening for him and Edward to get inside a burning building to rescue the children. He uses another one to create an exit to get out in time.

Lucas sends his aura sphere in the sky to create a storm as part of the plan to make Steve and Spike believe they were hallucinating about the existence of vampires. He then sees Jalen’s aura and understood that he’s in love with Tiffany.

Have A Purpose

Lucas quickly puts on his aura to avoid having Edward read his mind, fear of his reaction to when he told how Mike still has an infatuation for Bella, having a photo shopped version of the two together.

When Lucas meets Jemma, he was unable to see a single trace of her aura due to how she keeps everything to herself. Later on, he gives his aura to Bryce to avoid having him being detected when interrogating Jemma and Raymundo of their plan.

Lucas notices something odd going on with Jalen based on his aura, adding to how Jalen requested Lucas to give him his aura. He then finds out after seeing Orion’s aura, seeing that he’s up to something and after taking his aura back from Jalen, the Cullens know of Orion’s plan and acted before they were exposed.

A Christmas Surprise

Lucas gave a demonstration of his aura by shooting his aura sphere at Emmett.

Fourteen Years Later

Lucas had his gift taken by Skai’s ability absorption. Skai was testing out Lucas’s gift and using it fighting Lucien. He shoots an aura sphere but not before Lucien grabbed his arm and redirected it only for them to realized that they shot Kourtney leading to her deaf. Lucas retained his gift after making contact with Skai.

Long Live Life

Lucas shoots some aura sphere at the metal vampires as he and the Cullens assisted the pack. He then spins in the air sending multiple aura spheres to wear them down before they got caught.

Lucas fights off Skai using his aura to protect himself from Skai’s power of using many special abilities of vampires he has captured, even shooting his aura spheres at Skai. As a metal vampire, Lucas using his aura spheres to fight Lucien.
